Grauzone & SubMarine present: Boy Harsher (US) + Qual (DE) + Parrish Smith + Elixer

23 Nov 23:00 - 24 Nov 04:00

Boy Harsher is a dark electronic duo that produces gritty dance beats infused with ethereal vocals, creating a sound that is eerie, intense and incredibly danceable. Augustus Muller develops the underbelly of sound with minimal beats and grinding synths, where Jae Matthews whispers, screams and chants on top. Together, the music created is somewhere between industrial, drone and confessional storytelling. Muller and Matthews both have a strong background in film and their cinematic approach translates effectively in both their recordings and live performance.

Qual is about vile visions, despaired in a frowning black tower of pain. Concealed yearns of a desolate heart, trying to scratch that unscratchable rotting itch from within. Centuries of sorrow
drenched in gloomy electronics that palpitate like human passions. A call for help.

Parrish Smith has quietly been making a name for himself over these last years with releases on Knekelhuis and Contort Yourself as well as with his projects Volition Immanent and Sige Bythos. He just released an new EP on legendary label L.I.E.S. with four dense tracks. From slowbeat EBM to Belgium klang to classic The Hague crushers. Still he doesnt like to label himself, so let’s quote his own words: no elitism, no prejudices, no genre, hypnotic, tense, comprehensible, a state of mind.

Elixer is the joining force between Grauzone festival organiser Natasja Alers and musician Sid Idiopath of band Yokocola. They create a dynamic mix of new beat, acid, wave, synth and techno.

Tickets available here.
